Apple Valley CA is an incorporated community in the Southern part of San Bernardino County, located on the north west side of Victor Valley Road, about thirty minutes south of downtown Los Angeles. It was incorporated in November 1988, and is among the twenty-eight incorporated communities in California that uses “town” as its official name rather than “city”. In addition to the formalized town status, it also boasts of a “small town” style feeling. There are several major attractions located in the area, including the Apple Valley Museum and Apple Valley Winery.

The first Apple Valley residents settled in the area around two hundred and eighty years ago, after leaving the original settlement at Appleton, Wisconsin. In addition to farming crops, they grew a variety of fruits and vegetables for local consumption. As the settlers made their way down to Apple Valley, they noticed a thriving population, which they determined to join.

The main town of Apple Valley, which sits on the west side of Victor Valley Road, is home to the Apple Valley Museum and Apple Valley Winery. The museum includes a restored farmhouse, a greenhouse, and an exhibit area where visitors can view early apple farming equipment. The museum also features a large variety of early apple-related artifacts.

Apple Valley is also home to the Apple Valley Winery, which makes award winning wines. The Winery is open seven days a week but only closes for a limited time during the Christmas holidays. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Winery and try some of their award winning wine selections before making their purchase.

Another unique attraction in Apple Valley, is the Apple Valley Skywalk. This walkway is a ninety feet long walkway which has been installed at the top of a hill on the outskirts of Apple Valley. It takes tourists on a scenic tour of the region. The skywalk also provides a stunning view of the valley below. Along the skywalk, visitors can stop and take in a spectacular view of an enormous apple orchard as well as picnic areas and viewing platforms.

Apple Valley is a quaint little community, nestled in a picturesque valley with plenty of shopping options. The town hosts a number of local businesses, which include several antique shops and art galleries. It’s also home to a wide variety of dining choices, including five-star restaurants, bistros, cafes, specialty restaurants, and family friendly diners.
